Brendan Pena had tries to spare yesterday, scoring five in Hastings East's 69-5 drubbing of Wairoa.
Player of the day Cory Wilson also grabbed a brace, as Pond and Effluent Pumping Services Hastings East ran in 11 tries to one, Parekura Raroa snaring Wairoa's consolation.
Hastings West ground out a three tries
to one win over Engineering Solutions Napier East, finally triumphing 15-8.
James Lockhead was a standout for 3R Group Hastings West, picking up one of the tries, while Justis Broughton and Ben Adams were both standouts for Napier East.
In another tight game, Ian Dick Concrete Napier West squeaked past Bushetts Drivers Central Hawke's Bay 12-7.
Caleb Makene, a standout for Napier West, converted his own try to prove the difference between the two teams. Jonty Phillips also got on the scoresheet for Napier West.
Finton Minehan and Tim Scia Scia were the standouts for Central Hawke's Bay, who scored their points through a Blake Aupori try and Joe McCash conversion.
