Hawke's Bay has plenty of activities and events for people of all ages to enjoy. We list 7 of the best on offer this weekend.

1. Tarzino Trophy Daffodil Raceday — BOSTOCK New Zealand Spring Racing Carnival

A fantastic way to celebrate the first day of spring as the Tarzino Trophy Daffodil Raceday launches Group 1 racing for the season, bringing the big guns of New Zealand racing to Hastings to battle at one of the country's stellar racing events. 300 Prospect Rd, Raureka, Hastings. Today, 10.30am.

2. Piece-Makers Market

This market is a fabulous experience for discerning shoppers, showcasing wares from a growing number of hand-picked stall holders from throughout Hawke's Bay and New Zealand. Stall-holders vary each month and are often different from those online. All have made, designed or found gorgeous, high-quality products including children's clothing, fresh flowers, furniture, textiles, jewellery and objects. Hawthorne Coffee Roasters, 23 Napier Rd, Havelock North. Today, 9am to 1pm.

3. The Rolling Stones Experience

Get the legendary rock 'n' roll experience and revel in some of the finest Stones songs from the past 50 years, delivered as they should be: live and loud! Classics include Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Woman, Tumbling Dice, Can't Always Get What You Want, Beast of Burden, It's All Over Now, Last Time and many more. 4. New Zealand International Film Festival; New Zealand's Best, 2018

For this year's New Zealand's Best short film competition, NZIFF programmers Bill Gosden, Sandra Reid and Michael McDonnell viewed 84 submissions to make a shortlist of 12. Then director and cinematographer Leon Narbey selected six finalists. A jury of three will select the winner of the $5000 Madman Entertainment Jury Prize. MTG Century Theatre, 9 Herschell St, Napier. 5. Cyclocross Hawkes Bay 2018

CycloCross Hawke's Bay and SuperVision Sports are offering 2 events per month for all ages and abilities — from littlies on balance bikes through to seasoned pros with all the gear. Black Barn Vineyard is flinging open the doors, opening up the pathway between Cellar Door and the Kitchen Store, putting on the music, pouring the first of the 2018 rosé and inviting along Vagabond Jacks to keep you fed, replenished and happy.
