"It was a stunning day and we had some good numbers from outside the region with an American couple, some French people and someone from Palmerston North also competing."
Each event so far they have had about 10 per cent of people from outside the area. Runners could either do a half marathon, a 10.7km course or 6.5km course.
This was the fifth of the series, which finishes on September 10 with the final trail run being held at Ocean Beach.
Mr Sinclair was pleased with each of the events so far and said they had been good fun.
"You never know what your going to get in Winter but we have had some lovely runs around Hawke's Bay."
Prior to yesterday's event runners got to explore Lake Tutira, Pan Pac Eskdale Forest and Te Mata Peak through the other trail runs of the series.
Mr Sinclair hoped the run at Ocean Beach would be on another "stunning" Hawke's Bay day like yesterday.
This was an improvement on the last run which was held in Pan Pac Eskdale Forest where it rained the entire weekend making for a very wet course.
"Everyone disappeared quickly after that run due to the rain so fingers crossed it is nice in September as we are hoping to finish up with a barbecue and a prizegiving."
The final event of Winter will also raise money for Ocean Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.
Hawke's Bay Trail Run Series are also in the process of planning a summer series based around the vineyards but that is yet to be confirmed.
"It would be nice as they could do the run then have a picnic and wine afterwards around the vineyards but we are still in the planning stages."
