This was the first year the awards had been run under the Hastings City Celebration Award name, after a change in format from the past 19 years of The Hastings City Business Awards.
A total 10 category awards were announced on the night with Thomson's Suits also picking up the Simon Cartwright Photography Outstanding Retail Award, while the Hawke's Bay App Outstanding Hospitality Business Award went to the Common Room.
The CopyPlus Outstanding Professional Service Award went to NZCU Baywide, while the EIT Outstanding Trade Service Business Award went to First Chiropractic Hastings.
The Common Room Outstanding Social Enterprise Business went to the Cranford Hospice Store, with the World Travellers at Best Travel Outstanding New Business Award going to Ink.
The MYOB Exceptional Business Innovation Award winner was Funbuns.
Hastings District Council #HastingsProud Outstanding Customer Experience Award winner was named as Cameo – Skin Body Beauty, and the Little Red Robot Design CBD Hero Award went to Michael Whittaker.
"The Hawke's Bay Today Hastings City Celebration Awards are of great benefit to the Hastings CBD business community and we are so thankful to all our incredibly supportive and generous sponsors and judges. Without this support and generosity these awards would simply not happen," Nolan said.
The "sparkling" awards evening was held under a 20m geodesic dome in Albert Square.
"It was a fabulous coming together of the local business community, celebrating success and business excellence.
"Deciding who took out the overall Supreme Award was a tough choice for the judges – the level of business excellence amongst the finalists was extremely high. However, Thomson's Suits had the edge.
"The Hastings City Business Association also recognises and congratulates all the winners and highly commended finalists. Every single nominee went through a rigorous and robust judging process so making it to the finalist section is no mean feat."
