A third classic WWII fighter is set to join the colourful squadron for the Tremains Art Deco Festival which kicks off in a fortnight.
The Napier Aero Club had secured a P51 Mustang and a Spitfire and have confirmed that they will now be joined by an American P40N Kittyhawk,which like the other fighters has a dual seat and will be available to take people for a special ride over the city.
The Kittyhawk was last here three years ago as part of the Hawke's Bay Airport's 50th anniversary celebrations and will add to what a club spokesman said was an impressive line-up.
Also returning after a five-year break is the PBY Catalina flying boat.
Several DH Tiger Moths from around the country and a NZ Tiger Cub will also be in the air, with the NZ Warbirds' Harvards and one of RNZAF's new trainers, the T-6c Texan.
It will put on a display on the Friday evening over the Marine Parade where the squadron of Harvards will also put on an annual performance.
The Harvards will also put on displays at 12.15pm on the Saturday of festival weekend and Sunday at 2pm.
All the aircraft will also be on static display for the public to get a close look at during the festival with access through the main entrance to Hawke's Bay Airport with a charge of $10 per vehicle to get on to the field.
