Hawke's Bay's own radio hunk is third on the leader board in Woman's Day's search for the country's hottest radio DJ.

The competition, which started on July 26, is getting to crunch time with just one week left for people to vote.

The Hit Hawke's Bay breakfast show host Adam Green was pleased to be sitting in the top three but said first or second would be nicer.

"Any vote is a good vote and I really appreciate them all but to be first or second would be awesome."

Mr Green was described by some of his voters as a "classic Kiwi guy with a fantastic sense of humour" who was falling in love with the Bay as the Bay was falling in love with him.

The radio host has been hitting the local streets handing out his "Vote for Adam" badges, engaging in Woman's Day photo shoots and trying to find the "most famous person" to support him.

"We are hoping to get Toni Street on the show and we have also had some of the Magpies behind us giving us a push as well."

Since being published in Woman's Day yesterday Mr Green said his bragging rights at home continued and he was sure his mum would frame the article.

When asked if he was getting used to the photo shoots he said he was "slowly but surely", however they were still a "bit awkward".

"We had the photo shoot here in Napier so we could show off our place to the rest of the country."

With voting closing on August 30 Mr Green encouraged the public to continue to show their support and get right behind him so he could do Hawke's Bay proud.

Currently leading the charge is The Rock star Roger Farrelly but yesterday to get Mr Green to second equal he needed another 4 per cent of votes.

To vote for Mr Green, visit: www.nowtolove.co.nz/win/competitions/radio-hunk-nominations-33041. People can have one vote a day, and the final day of voting when the winner is announced is on September 3.
