Paul Henry

*   Well done Paul Henry. I knew it wouldn't take too long for someone to snatch you up. Big mistake TV One. Good luck Paul. I still miss you in the morning. Raewyn

*   Now Aussie will have the best breakfast host ever. Yep we've blown it... again.

*   Australia are welcome to our latest export - Paul Henry!

Other thoughts

*   Lovely editorial, Mark Story. David Trubridge is a national treasure. JD

*   SPCA Op Shop, Fetch, opened at 8am on Sunday for cruise visitors. Trade Aid next door also opened early. Both stores were busy all morning. LS

*   Apart from greed and blood lust, all tyrants in history have one common trait - vanity.

*   It wasn't only the bee hive the NCC tree felling staff destroyed it was also all the little baby birds' nests! Why chop the trees back at this time of year? Why not use a bit of common sense! These are deciduous trees and winter would have been a far more appropriate time to complete this operation and would not have meant leaving distressed and dead birds!

*   Does anyone else think NCC is extremely greedy with their $40 parking fee fines? I sure do!

*   Why is the HBDHB wasting money building raised vege plots by Omahu Rd? Just turn all the grass into parking not a place for people to help themselves to free veges.

*   I can't come to terms with HBRU sacking Peter Russell. With 12 players tipped to have super rugby contracts and winning the competition. What more can a coach do in a season? Good call HBRU (yeah right ). DjC

*   Peter Russell can now concentrate on becoming AB coach as he is the one who can get us two World Cups in a row . Kia Kaha. PR

*   No disrespect to Graham Henry but I never heard one word mentioned about Wayne Smith. Smith is a highly intelligent and experienced man. Not just another pretty face.

*   Heartless BNZ. Wellwood was a great employer who helped put money in your bank via us - his many EX employees.

*   Re orchardist may loose house: I wonder if we would be reading about him if his gamble had paid off. Using house as collateral is a big risk.

*   The intersection at Caroline Rd and Alexandra Cres is an accident waiting to happen. There are road markings but where are the sign posts? Let's keep our roads safe. ME

*   Truck driver Evenden Rd last Wednesday morning: Coffee in right hand, cellphone in left. They never get caught do they? A

*   Turn Marineland into bus terminal with waterfront cafe included. This would be good for locals on walking path as well. First impressions for tourists count!
