Lambs sold well at Stortford Lodge.

Store lamb prices showed no signs of easing at yesterday's Stortford Lodge sale.

Many of the big lamb buyers were absent but that had no effect on prices for the yarding of about 1700 head.

There were only eight cattle on offer. A pen of 18-month Friesian bulls weighing 291kg sold well at $860/head or $2.95/kg.

This year's prime sales got off to a strong start at Monday's sale with sheep prices carrying on the trends of last year.

Prices for the yarding of about 1700 ewes were especially notable with the top pen in a mostly quality yarding making $195.

The lamb offering of about 500 head was also in good demand with the top pen making $177.

There were no cattle on offer.
