Thanks to the recent rain, lamb prices picked up at Stortford Lodge yesterday.

Plenty of rain around Hawke's Bay meant store lamb prices rose at Stortford Lodge yesterday.

The best of a yarding of about 2500 quality lambs were sought after by buyers mostly from Hawke's Bay with some support from Taupo and Levin.

The cattle yarding of about 350 head was mostly young stock.

Yearling friesian bulls sold well with one pen of 380kg animals making $1110.

The two-year-old friesian bulls also cracked the $3/kg mark.
