State Highway 5 between Napier and Taupō has now reopened following a serious crash.
Emergency services were called about 11.30am on Friday to a two-vehicle crash near Rangitaiki, with initial indications that the crash had caused serious injuries.
The road reopened at 1.35pm Friday.
