Irish singer Ronan Keating slipped quietly into Hawke's Bay last night - the last Mission act star to arrive ahead of tomorrow's concert.

The 36-year-old former Boyzone member said he was looking forward to enjoying the region's "sights and sounds" with Australian partner Storm Uechtritz.

"Of course I'm looking forward to the wine," he laughed. "I'll tell you when I leave," he said when asked what his favourite wine was.

The artist last performed in the Bay at the 2010 Church Road Winery concert.

"I'm looking forward to the gig," the When You Say Nothing at All singer-songwriter said at Hawke's Bay Airport.

Last month the musician was rushed to a London hospital and underwent surgery for a mysterious illness.

"The heath is much better thank you," he said, having not yet revealed why he needed surgery.

Keating started dating 32-year-old television producer Uechtritz in September 2012 after meeting on the set of The X Factor Australia, which the singer has featured as a judge since 2010.

The couple arrived at 7.30pm, dressed casually in denim and both sporting sunglasses, after jetsetting across the globe lately which included a romantic holiday in the Maldives.

The pair said they were staying in Hawke's Bay for a couple of days and have checked into the same rural Hawke's Bay luxury hotel as the five other Mission acts.

Hawke's Bay Today also spoke to fellow Mission act and former Spice Girl Mel C yesterday, who is visiting the region for the first time and said she was "really excited about getting out there to perform with the orchestra".

British R&B singer-songwriter Billy Ocean was also spotted in Havelock North yesterday, enjoying the restaurants and bars after arriving on Wednesday night.

The Caribbean Queen singer, 64, arrived on the same flight as Irish singer-songwriter and The Corrs violinist Sharon Corr, and "Sporty Spice".

Sixty-five-year-old When I Need You singer Leo Sayer also arrived yesterday.

The UK and Irish Invasion Show gets under way at 8pm with the five stars performing one song, one after another, and then returning to finish their sets.
