Drainage maintenance work along stretches of State Highway 2 north, between Napier and Gisborne, is likely to result in slight traffic delays with speed restrictions and stop/go signalling in place.
The work is being carried out at various sites between Tutira and Putorino, as well as between Wairoa and Nuhaka.
Speed restrictions are also in place at several sites on the southern stretch of SH2, between Napier and Dannevirke.
A cycle lane upgrade is under way across the Clive River Bridge, and a high shoulder grading programme is being undertaken between Pakipaki and Te Hauke.
At Poukawa, contractors are working on power pole and overhead crossing replacement, and motorists can expect to add five minutes to their travel time as stop/go signals are in place.
Road surface waterblasting is being carried out at various sites between Fernhill and Maraekakaho, while water main work is under way near Waipukurau, in the 70km/h Takapau Rd area.
Waterblasting is also under way at sites between Eskdale and Tarawera on SH5, with speed restrictions in place, while drainage maintenance is being carried out in the Esk Valley, again with speed restrictions in place and stop/go signals operating.
There are not expected to be delays for motorists using SH38 from Wairoa to Lake Waikaremoana as Chorus contractors work on underground cable replacement, although the road shoulders have been closed off. Shoulder closures are also in place on Frasertown Rd, near the Awatere Rd intersection, as a new water main crossing is being installed.
