Police want to speak to witnesses of a robbery at a service station north of Bay View.

Police want to speak to several people who may have been witnesses to parts of a robbery of a service station north of Bay View last week.

Detective John McCarthy of Hawke's Bay CIB said other people were around the forecourt of J Young Motors Services Station near Bay View when two people robbed two staff about 8pm last Thursday.

The robbers, thought to be young women, ran out of the service station and left in a blue or green Ford Falcon which sped from the scene and headed south towards Napier, possibly driven by a third person.

Police had yesterday still made no arrests nor positively identified the vehicle, nor two people in images recorded on a security surveillance system.

Mr McCarthy said police were also still trying to contact some of those who had been around the station forecourt about the time of the robbery in which small amounts of cash and tobacco products were stolen.
