Two young Hastings residents were killed in a collision on SH5 on Saturday. Photo Supplied

Police have released the names of the two people who died in a crash on SH5 at Te Pohue on Saturday.

They were 20-year-old Maja Eve Sanders and 19-year-old Joshua Tom Van Hooijdonk, both from Hastings.

Another female victim remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances of the crash.
