Police inquiries are ongoing after two incidents of shots being fired in Wairoa on Tuesday night.
A police spokeswoman said shortly after 8pm on Tuesday night Police received a report of a firearm being discharged on McLean Street in Wairoa.
A short time later a second report was received regarding shots fired near a Karaka Street address.
She said initial enquiries indicate the two incidents were between people known to each other and police do not believe there is a wider risk to the public.

No charges have been brought and enquiries are ongoing.
