One person critical after Napier crash

Two people have been admitted to Hawke's Bay Hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after a two-vehicle crash in Napier early Saturday.
The vehicles collided at the intersection of Auckland Rd and York Ave in suburban Greenmedows shortly after 5am, police central communications Senior Sergeant Marty Edghill said.
One vehicle caught fire, possibly after hitting a lamp post, he said.
It was not yet clear if anyone else was in the vehicles.
Mr Edghill said the intersection had been closed and the police serious crash unit was investigating.
