A Central Hawke's Bay road was well and truly blocked after a logging truck rolled yesterday morning.

Diversions were put in place shortly after 11am yesterday when the logging truck and trailer rolled on Middle Rd, just north of Camp David in Central Hawke's Bay.

A witness, who was just behind the truck heading down Middle Rd towards Patangata, said the truck just rolled over in front of him.

"I came around the corner behind it. Luckily, I was not any closer."

The road was completely blocked to traffic travelling both ways, and a log had rolled off the truck and down the bank.

"The driver was fine, I gave him a cold water - it's just one of those things."

A police spokesperson said there were no injuries and police were investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash.
