Police and labour inspectors are investigating a workplace accident today where a man died after falling from a motorbike.

The 17-year-old male from Napier was working on an orchard property at Twyford, near Hastings, when the accident occurred at 11.30am.

Ambulance and police officers were on the scene at about 11.45am.

Labour inspectors from the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment are investigating the incident and the police Serious Crash Unit is investigating on behalf of the coroner.
