Man airlifted after plunge to deck

A man who fell about three metres  to a wooden deck in Southern Hawke's Bay was flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital in Hastings yesterday by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter.
A  spokesperson for the rescue service, which was alerted at 4.15pm, said the man suffered a back injury in a fall from a ladder while water-blasting a  house near Porangahau.
