Hōhepa Hawke’s Bay has won the night at the Pan Pac Hawke’s Bay Business Awards in Napier.

Hosted by the Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce on Friday night and emceed by actor Madeleine Sami, the awards celebrated the region’s top businesses as picked by a panel of experts.

Hōhepa Hawke’s Bay took home the Pan Pac Forest Products Ltd Supreme Award and the MediaWorks The Breeze Hawke’s Bay Outstanding Social Impact Award.

Judges praised Hōhepa for empowering individuals, strengthening community, and creating sustainable social impact.

The business is helping to shape the future of disability support and community living in New Zealand, delivering a $3 social return for every dollar invested.

Brittin Builders took home the Unison Excellence in Business Award for its investment in leadership and technology, and robust project management and communication, to consistently achieve outstanding operational performance.

The Ngāti Kahungungu Iwi Inc Outstanding Māori and Pasifika Business went to Kahu Scaffolding.

Hastings tech start-up RossAi, which makes leading-edge AI and sensor technology, was named Heretaunga Hastings a Growing District Best Emerging Business.

The EIT Best Micro Business, celebrating businesses run by owner-operators or fewer than two full-time staff, went to Contentment PR and Communications.

Pēpi Eats took out the Napier City Council People’s Choice Award, which has a strong following for its durable and safe lunch boxes, plates, and drink bottles, designed locally and with a Māori flavour.

Taylor Corp’s Cameron Taylor won the 2degrees Leader of the Year for his compassionate and courageous leadership after Cyclone Gabrielle.

After Taylor’s heroic flood rescue efforts during the cyclone, when he and Geoff “Chook” Keightly rescued well over 100 people from the flood waters, he led the Taylor Corp team through a significant rebuild and toward a record export season.

Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce chief executive Karla Lee said the winners showcase excellence, innovation, resilience and community spirit at the highest level.
