There was plenty to smile about yesterday as a truckload of festive parcels was loaded as part of the Twelve days of Giving, Festive Food Drive.

The initiative is supported by Tremain's Real Estate in conjunction with the Out and About with Kids in Hawke's Bay organisation.

From November 24 to December 5 the community and local businesses were called to donate food to the local food banks. The parcels collected will be distributed to those in need in the community over the Christmas period.

On its Facebook page, Out and About with Kids said $3000 worth of goods were collected yesterday morning.

Helping load the truck were Keith McDonald from New World; Rob Nankervis from Colliers; Cam Ward, the managing director of Tremains' commercial arm Colliers International; Iain Beaton, owner of New World, Greenmeadows in Napier; and Gabby Allen, from Out and About with Kids.
