A fire in a caretaker’s shed at a Napier school is being treated as suspicious.

Firefighters were called to a fire at Henry Hill School on Sunday, shortly after 11.30am.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokeswoman said they received multiple calls about a shed fire at the school.

Two fire trucks and a support crew were quickly on the scene and extinguished the blaze.

She said the cause of the fire was being treated as suspicious, and a fire investigator was at the school on Sunday afternoon.

“Our classrooms and other school buildings are all good.

“Safety measures will be in place around the damaged area.”
