Christmas will come early for one lucky Hawke's Bay family who won a holiday on the sunny Gold Coast.

The lucky winners of the Christmas Cracker competition run by Hawke's Bay Today, The Hits, and GrabOne, all part of the NZ Media and Entertainment (NZME.) group were drawn yesterday.

Hastings mayor Lawrence Yule drew the winning family and the lucky winners of three $1000 cash prizes supervised under the watchful eye of Hastings Community Constable Deb Potter. The winners will be announced with Martin and Sarah on The Hits Friday, December 18 between 6am and 9am.

Mayor Yule said he thought it was an amazing prize.

"A lot of things happen at this time of year and a lot of people get right into this. They're supporting shopping, retail and supporting the CBD."
