Experts carefully remove store's asbestos

Workers from Hastings Demolition remove asbestos at Ravensdown's Awatoto fertiliser store, near State Highway 2, between Clive and Napier.

The work is part of the company's long-term asbestos removal project.

The shed is a store for superphosphate, the mineral fertiliser Awatoto store supplies for Hawke's Bay farmers to use on soils.

Ravensdown said Hastings Demolition was an expert in the complex and meticulous work of removing, transporting and disposing of asbestos.

The long-term plan is to replace all asbestos with fibreglass cladding.
