A Hastings entertainer has been found guilty of sexual violation for an incident involving a 17-year-old boy six years ago.
A jury at the Napier District Court heard this week how the accused invited the complainant back to his house to model for a photo shoot. As part of the
photo shoot he asked the boy to undress before rubbing him with baby oil. He then performed a sex act on the boy.
The accused said he believed the boy was consenting. This was rejected by the jury who returned with a guilty verdict on Wednesday. The complainant, now 23, first came forward in early 2012, approximately five years after the incident. He gave evidence on Monday.
Interim name suppression was granted. It will be contested when he appears for sentencing on June 24.
