A little bit of goodwill goes a long way. And we don't seem to be short of goodwill around here.

Volunteers, sponsors and truck drivers willingly came together to help the trust that provides accommodation for families of patients at Hawke's Bay Hospital.

Being close by makes it so much easier for parents with sick children.

Everyone's hard work paid off, as between $25-$30,000 was raised.

Meanwhile, those on two wheels were also raising money for a good cause.

Hundreds of motorcyclists started up their engines for the first "On Ya Bike" mystery charity ride.

The British and American Motorcycle Club organised the event, which they hope to become an annual fixture. Their efforts resulted in an $8000 cheque for Cranford Hospice.

And of course, you couldn't miss the ladies in pink at supermarkets, gathering money for the breast cancer charity.
