Your Hawke's Bay Today is changing.

Your Hawke's Bay Today is changing.

For the past few days we have been telling you about changes to Hawke's Bay Today that will come into effect next week.

The changes have been brought about by our move to a new printing press. From the beginning of the month, Hawke's Bay Today has been printed by Beacon Print in Wilson Rd, Hastings. This is a great development for the paper because it means that we are now able to produce the paper we want to, rather than being constrained by an old printing press.

The paper will be printed in one run and the days of black and white pages are over.

The big changes next week will be on a Wednesday and Thursday. Our popular entertainment magazine and television guide Vibe moves from Thursday to Wednesday. We believe this will enhance Wednesday's paper, especially because we are giving Vibe a spruce up.

Our rural liftout section, Heartland, will remain on a Thursday and the paper gets a boost with two of our popular Outdoor columnists, Gary Kemsley (Fishing) and Hans Willems (Hunting and Tramping) moving from a Friday to a Thursday. Another big change to the week day paper will see the crossword pages, television page and weather map move to the back of the paper next to the classified advertisements. The back page will still be the main sports page, with the rest of sport flowing on after the classified pages.

We will tell you more about the changes tomorrow and on Saturday, before the relaunch on Monday.

We believe the paper will be easier to navigate and even more interesting and enjoyable to read.

We hope you do too.
