"We saw the opportunity to offer visitors a standard of accommodation not previously available in the Hastings district," he said.
Ms Bowyer said as a five-star, boutique hotel, it offered the ultimate in luxury, service and facilities.
It offers 32 luxury guest rooms and 10 suites with stunning views, while guests can enjoy the Bay's renowned climate from their own private balconies. All rooms are generously proportioned and feature beautifully appointed interiors with quality fittings.
"Every detail has been carefully considered from the original artworks on the walls to the plush bathrobes for guests," Ms Bowyer said. "We're committed to offering our guests the ultimate in luxury and comfort."
The hotel was named for its location - at the prime intersection of Te Aute Rd, Havelock Rd and Porters Drive - while giving a nod to the hotel porter, whose presence was a special feature of 5-star properties.
The positioning of the hotel in the centre of Havelock North would be a huge drawcard for visitors, Ms Bowyer said. With Hawke's Bay visitor numbers on the rise, the hotel would also serve as an ideal gateway for all that the region has to offer.
The hotel, restaurant, and retail space would be connected by a large outdoor courtyard - with the capacity to cater for up to 200 people for weddings and private functions, Ms Bowyer expected the courtyard to be a vibrant addition to Havelock North village.
