Delays as SH2 slips cleared

Roadworks and slip clearing will create minor delays on all main highways across Hawke's Bay over the next week.

On SH2 between Napier and Gisborne scattered seal surface waterblasting work is under way between Kotemaori and Whakaki while surface repairs are being carried out in the Morere area.

Motorists travelling next weekend are also being advised that deck seal surface repairs of the Wairoa River Bridge are planned for Saturday, August 2.

Further south on SH2 scattered seal surface scabbling (re-texturing) is under way between Pakipaki and Takapau.

Contractors are also working on road shoulder widening near Norsewood.

On SH5 between Napier and Taupo slip clearing between Te Pohue and Te Haroto is being carried out.

The extensive tree felling along the expressway stretch of SH50 between the Tutaekuri River Bridge and the Pakowhai Rd intersection is set to be wrapped up around August 15.

Until then there will be speed restrictions and stop-go signals in place.

There will also be minor delays in the Ashley Clinton area where similar work is taking place.

Scattered seal surface work is also under way between Waiohiki and Takapau.

Closer to Napier, reconstruction of the carparking area on Breakwater Rd near Sandy Beach and Port of Napier Gate Number 3 is continuing. Motorists should proceed with care through the work zone.
