The Art Deco Trust has appointed a new festival director to manage the Tremains Art Deco Festival.

Sally Jackson, General Manager for the Art Deco Trust announced that Glen Pickering was appointed into the role after the incumbent Jonathan Smith stepped down last month.

Glen Pickering is a local from Hawke's Bay and leaves the position of Festival Director at the World Buskers Festival in Christchurch to join the Art Deco Trust team.

He stated "The World's Buskers Festival is Christchurch's largest and highest rated event; running over 10 days it attracting approximately 250,000 people, enjoying 65 different acts from around the world. It has been a privilege to work for this incredible Festival; it is truly a world class and a showpiece Christchurch event."

The Tremains Art Deco Festival is held annually on the third weekend of February and attracts between 38,000 - 42,000 people to Hawke's Bay each year.
