A 20-year-old woman had a lucky escape yesterday after her car rolled down a bank off Puketitri Road, Poraiti.

Emergency services, including two engines from Napier Fire Station, were called to the scene just after 6pm.

Constable Marty Lack said where the incident occurred was a narrow part of the road, which was wet and slippery.

The stretch of Puketitri Rd where the car lost control was windy, and there was nowhere to stop on either side.

The white sedan had been turned upside down at the bottom of the bank, but the woman was able to climb out.
