Crowds of people enjoyed the annual Blossom Parade in Hastings yesterday.
The Blossom Parade followed a new route this year and featured recently crowned Blossom Queen, 22-year-old Vanessa Kirk.
The parade was preceded by the Hastings City Business Association's Blossom Breakfast at the Hastings Inner City Mall, with a gold coin entry fee going towards the Leukaemia Foundation.
The Blossom Parade kick off at 1.30pm and for two hours wound its way up Warren St, along Queen St to Nelson St, and then up two blocks of Heretaunga St West before heading a short block down Market St, on to Eastbourne St to cross the railway line, and ending in Russell St beside Civic Square.
But it was the floats that captured the crowds imagination, with First Foundation for Youth Development winning the community section, Frimley School won the Schools Section and Hawke's Bay Today winning the Commercial Section.\
