Picturesque sunny blue skies treated more than 2000 guests who turned out for the annual Beat Girls concert at Askerne Winery on Sunday.
The first concert in the Havelock North winery's summer series entertained children and adults alike as they picnicked in 32C heat.
Owner of Askerne and concert organiser Kathryn Loughlin said the sunshine added to the atmosphere around the concert.
"It was incredibly hot, and we had an excellent turn out," she said.
"Last year wet weather meant we were on tenter hooks a bit, so it's kind of funny that this year we couldn't have pulled a better day out of the box."
The Beat Girls are fast becoming an annual fixture at the winery.
"It's the fifth or sixth time they have come now, and it's so great seeing how all ages enjoy it," Mrs Loughlin said.
"You see grandma up dancing with kids and the parents. The atmosphere is fantastic." Beat Girls will be followed by California Dreams on January 30, and a March 12 tribute show to Freddie Mercury, Elvis Presley and Tina Turner.
