With construction wrapping up three weeks ago, Atomic Events Centre's Skate Park _ the only indoor skate park in the Bay _ is already receiving rave reviews. The centre's staff have spent the last 18 months fundraising and reaching into their own pockets to upgrade the Skate Park. After receiving an originalgrant from Eastern and Central Community Trust, they still found themselves short of the overall total of $56,000. Yet with help from the Lion Foundation they were one step closer to their dream and finally received the last part of the funding from the Lotteries Community Facility Fund, which in turn helped them to do a full centre upgrade. May this year saw the green light finally given to the only indoor skate park in Hawke's Bay. The Atomic Events Centre is in the process of discussing a similar youth-focused venue in Napier with the Napier City Council.
