An elderly Napier man has denied four historic sex charges against boys, which allegedly happened when he was a practising chiropractor in Masterton.

Albert Gerald Adams, 78, was arrested by Wairarapa police at his home in Napier on April 30.

He appeared in the Napier District Court yesterday on four charges of indecently assaulting boys while he was a chiropractor in High St, Masterton, between 1975 and 1990.

He entered a not-guilty plea to Judge Bridget Mackintosh and elected to have a judge-alone trial.

The ages of the boys who were alleged to have been indecently assaulted by Adams ranged from under 12 to over 16.

Adams was remanded on bail yesterday, to appear in the Masterton District Court for a case review hearing on July 20.

Adams worked in Masterton until 1990.
