Within just two days of tickets going on sale, one of the new events set to feature as part of the Tremains Art Deco Weekend 2015 became a sell-out.
It is an event which has a sweet taste to it - and will be set in a place not usually known to host an Art Deco soiree.
But a parlour is a parlour - in this case a funeral parlour - and the appeal was immediate as tickets were snapped up.
As Art Deco Trust general manager Sally Jackson explained, the fittingly titled "Death by Chocolate" event will be staged at Dunstall's Funeral Parlour which will be set up to host guests who will indulge in tasting special treats produced by the acclaimed Silky Oak Chocolate Company.
It will be a fitting spot to enjoy the chocolate as well as remark on how spectacular the great street parade preceding it was.
Twelve vintage hearses will feature in the parade.
Events manager Peter Mooney said since tickets to the public went on sale last Wednesday the response across the board had been strong.
"We are ahead of where we were last year," he said.
"Our advice to people is, if they want to be in on something, best get in now."
One of the annual favourites is the steam train journeys and sales were going well on that front, Mr Mooney said.
Several people bought tickets on behalf of groups and businesses, and it was no surprise last week when one order for tickets came in.
"It was for several events by a group who traditionally come to the big weekend."
It was for $4000 of tickets.
As well as the "Death By Chocolate" soiree also set to take place for the first time will be a celebrity cricket match at Clifton, with the trust promising a few well-known and colourful names being lined up to take part.
Several speciality tea-themed events will also be staged, courtesy of the Art Deco Trust's newly announced ambassador, Merrill J Fernando, the founder of Dilmah Teas.
"The programme for this year has grown significantly on last year and features a large range of options for everyone," Ms Jackson said. "We are really proud of the way it has grown and so many thousands of people come from right across the world to celebrate Napier at this unique event."
