A Hastings solicitor is preparing to defend a charge of drink-driving after allegedly failing a breath test on January 15.
Sacha Maria Beacham, 38, was pulled over while driving on St George's Rd, near Havelock North, where police claim she later recorded a breath alcohol level of 561mcg.
The legal limit for adults aged 20 and over is 400mcg. Beacham, who regularly works in Hastings District Court as a defence lawyer, has entered a not guilty plea and will have her case heard by an out-of-town judge at a defended hearing in May.
