Editor Andrew Austin explains some of our new features to our website.

Hawke's Bay Today's new-look website has launched - and it is better and brighter.

The site - hawkesbaytoday.co.nz - will have improved local coverage, with more national and international news from the APN group of newspapers, including the New Zealand Herald.

Readers will be able to discover and access additional content from the New Zealand Herald, Rotorua Daily Post, Hawke's Bay Today, Wairarapa Times-Age, Wanganui Chronicle, Northern Advocate, the Northland Age, Hamilton News, Stratford Press and the Aucklander all on one convenient website.

The site has a cleaner and simpler design with a new feature, Save and View Later, which allows readers to save an article, video or photo gallery to their profile and view it later.
The new-look website is available across desktop, mobile and tablet devices.

Hawke's Bay Today editor Andrew Austin said the changes were exciting and fitted in well with the recent changes to the print version of the paper.

"We see this as an exciting opportunity to enhance our online presence. We are encouraging our readers to have the best of both worlds - buy the newspaper in the morning and go to our website during the day for updates.''

Hawke's Bay Today general manager Russell Broughton said the website upgrade would enhance the newspaper's position as the No1 source of local news in Hawke's Bay, while also covering more national and international news.

"We are pleased to provide our readers with more local news online and give them access to newspapers in the APN group.''

Digital publisher APN Regionals Tracey Bond said: "The new sites make it easier for people to discover the wealth of unique content from our regional titles with fantastic photos.''
