The South School Shearers rest after the trolley race during the East Coast regional competition in April.

Thanks to local sponsors the South School Shearers will be well kitted out when they compete in the Young Farmer Agri-Kids New Zealand final at Manfeild on Saturday (July 8).

The main sponsor was the ADB Williams Trust while Turton's Farm Supplies, Farmlands, Stitchme and Dannevirke Young Farmers Club were also sponsors.

The three lads - Daniel Adie, Carson Imes and Quinn Steed - will be barely recognisable on Thursday July 6 when they parade through Palmerston North with the rest of the Young Farmer competitors.

They will be dressed as Fred Dagg and his mates, in keeping with the name of the group.
After coming third out of 43 teams in the East Coast Regional Finals on April 1 the boys have been training hard doing study and practical activities, helped by some of local firms.

Just recently at Farmlands they set up a trough and at Dannevirke Dairy Supplies they assembled a milking claw.

At South School on Friday June 30 the boys were held up as excellent role models by principal Mr Stephen Snell and he wished them good luck.
