The 66-year-old passed away on Sunday in her husband's arms. Lynda was diagnosed with colon cancer in July last year but the disease spread to her lungs and liver. When I wrote about Lynda in this column a few weeks ago, she had publicly announced she was stopping chemotherapy so she could live out her last months happily with her husband Michael Pattemore and children Robbie and Michael Peluzo.
It was her wish to experience just one more Christmas with her loved ones before an anticipated departure in January next year but, sadly, her wish wasn't granted.
This weekend, I shall rewatch The Trial of a Timelord in her honour and I look forward to reading her recent book, Memoir. Lynda was a popular, beloved, talented and brave lady.
Gone but never forgotten.
