In the week leading up to their nuptials, the couple were followed by hordes of paparazzi and thousands of adoring fans as they walked the streets of Paris, drove to events or enjoyed exclusive dinners with familyand friends behind closed castle doors. Every family member, every friend, every guest has been snapped trying to battle their way through the throng.
Every angle of Kim's pencil-skirted booty has been scrutinised, criticised and immortalised by the media. Every sullen-faced shot of Kanye has been noted. There was the odd smile, but not many.
Kim kept her head down most of the time to avoid camera shots. Such a shame to be in the most romantic city on Earth and not be able to enjoy it in peace and privacy - but Kim and her mum would never have chosen that. I'm sure Kim would have been devastated if no photographers showed up. She likes to live in the spotlight, whereas Kanye is a background man when he is out in public with Kim.
On the eve of their wedding, the gates of the glittering Chateau de Versailles, once the digs of Louis XIV, were opened to the couple and their guests for a private function. The pair, who began dating in early 2012, wed and hosted a reception at Florence's 16th-century Belvedere Fort last Saturday.
May they live happily ever after (that's probably not going to happen) and have lots more babies (that's probably going to happen) and may the world be Kardashian-news free for at least the duration of their honeymoon.
Serious side Rubber-faced Jim Carrey delivered the commencement speech at a university in Iowa at the weekend. However, the funny man, 52, also showed his serious side as he addressed the departing students. Jim told them he was inspired by his late father to follow his dreams. "I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which was that you could fail at what you don't love, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love." Can't argue with that.
