Gamers who are fans of the classic arcade side-scrolling shooter genre, and I know there are a lot of you out there, will think all their Christmases have come at once with Super Time Force from Capy Games.
Playing much like Ghosts and Goblins and the like, Super Time Forcehas been designed with a 16bit graphical look, while maintaining enough polish to keep current.
There are pop-culture references throughout, which is indicative of the humour to be discovered. Character names such as Jeff Leppard and Jean Rambois let you know that you're in for a few laughs.
As a team of mercenaries, you get sent back in time to fix the mistakes of the future. I say "team" because even though you can only use one character at a time, a very clever gameplay mechanic can actually have you using all five available characters simultaneously, but in separate timelines. Sounds confusing, but it's quite simple. You have 30 lives to use, and once you die (and you will die many times), you can start the level again, or rewind time back as far as you want before choosing another character to continue with. This new character will then fight alongside your previous character, so you're basically playing co-op with yourself.
This can be used as a great strategy, especially where you need to multitask. You can use the first character to shoot missiles, then die and use a second character to attack directly.
