A gated retirement village is planned for Frimley by the same people who developed Frimley Estate.
They are offering freehold titles instead of licence to occupy contracts.
"Many people want the benefits retirement villages offer - security, the companionship of like-minded people, easier living where someone else does all thelawns and gardens, and a lifestyle on their doorstep where they can get involved with other residents," managing director Nick Duff said.
"However, what puts people off are the heavy financial penalties involved in most villages - typically a village resident would lose 20-30 per cent of the capital they paid when they leave the village, and they would not share in any capital gain when their villa is resold.
"We decided we wanted to do something different - and offer the benefits of retirement village living without the financial penalties."
Frimley Retirement Village will have 66 two and three bedroom villas - some stand-alone and some duplex, all with garages. The villas have been designed by Navigation Homes who will be responsible for building to "a very high spec".
A village manager will live on site and be responsible for gardens and lawns.
The team behind the village are Nick Duff, and Alistair and Kristy Taylor of the successful Frimely Estate subdivision.
