Hawthorne House in Hastings has been awarded second place in the Best Bed and Breakfast/Inn, South Pacific category in the 2013 TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards.
It is the only Hawke's Bay property to feature as a top 25 finalist in the category.
Mike Lewis, owner and operator of Hawthorne Housesaid he was over the moon to receive such a coveted honour.

"We pride ourselves on delivering great service and showcasing amazing Hawke's Bay produce, either home-grown or locally made. In its 11th year, the awards identified the most outstanding properties worldwide, in the categories of Top Hotels, Luxury, Bargain, Service, Small Hotels, and B&Bs; and Inns.
Representing its biggest-ever Travellers' Choice campaign, TripAdvisor named more than 6,000 award-winning properties around the world this year, with dedicated lists now covering 82 countries and nine regions worldwide. Winners are based on millions of reviews and opinions covering more than 650,000 hotels and collected in a single year from travellers around the world.
