JONO Griffiths threw three 180s in Round 7 of grading in Turanganui a Kiwa Darts Association play on Tuesday night.

Griffiths, of Te Kuzzyz, threw the trio of 180s in his team’s 10-5 victory over the Tigers.

Teammates Errol Tamihana and Toby Ratapu threw a 180 each and Teretu Te Moananui threw a 171 as Te Kuzzyz continued their dominance of the grading round.

Tigers’ Erik Pu had the highest tally of tons for the night — 24. Included in that total were a 180 and seven 140s.

The Rhinos trailed defending champions Falcons 5-4 after the pairs, and by the end of the singles the Falcons had stretched it to 10-5.

The seven tons of Pythons junior Shannan Eyles were a team high.

Sean Gooch of the Pumas had a 180 in his seven tons, and teammate Rendall McDonald also had seven tons in their match against Hummingbirds. Pumas won 12-3. Pumas’ Mikey Evans had 10 tons, a tally that was higher than anyone else’s in the match.

For Hummingbirds, youth player Summer Takurua did well to record seven tons, the highest number for her team on the night.

New team GMC did well to win three games against Ruahine Black, who won the match 12-3.

Mark Papunui and Monique Renata both scored four tons for GMC.
