PYTHONS tipped over the Sharks 11 games to 10 in the Brezz N Darts Competition.

It was game for game. Sharks captain Sonny Laulau got Sharks off to a good start, defeating Antz Hulley 2-1.

Pythons’ Errol Tamihana got one back, defeating Ken Lewis 2-0.

Sharks’ Dallas Joseph defeated Louise Laulau 2-0 but Pythons’ Kiri Hawea came back to defeat Curly Waikare 2-1.

Sharks’ Jim Steigenberger defeated Junior Akurangi 2-1 in the fifth game, giving Sharks a 3-2 lead with one game to go.

Pythons anchor Warren Coe defeated Curly Kerr 2-0, so it was game on at 3-3 going into the pairs.

The Pythons pairing of Hulley and Tamihana defeated Laulau and Lewis 2-0 but Sharks bit back, taking the next three pairs games with 2-1 scorelines.

Pythons struck back, taking the next four pairs games before Sharks took the last game.

Pythons’ 5-4 advantage in the pairs gave them an 8-7 advantage heading into the reverse singles. These ended 3-3 to give Pythons the 11-10 win.

Scorpions beat Ruahine 13-8.

Ruahine’s highlight of the night was Potz Te Kira’s 180, his second for the season.

Hawkz were too strong for Stallions, defeating them 15-6. Highlights included Stallions’ Kayne Arahanga taking the highest score for the night with 14 hundred-plus scores. Thao Duncan of Hawkz was a close second with 13.

Falcons beat Humming Birds 20-1. Although the games were all 2-0, the Humming Birds took the Falcons to the double finish. But the birds had the last laugh with Thomasina Irwin defeating Peter Tom 2-1 in the last singles match.

Highlights came from Falcons’ Harley Ngarangione taking high scores with 14 hundred-plus scores.

Humming Birds’ highlights were from mother Thomasina Irwin and daughter Amanda Manuel, each recording 100-plus scores, Thomasina with a 105 start.

Tigers — still wounded from last week’s defeat — came out strong against Pumas, taking the first singles matches five games to one.

They then conceded just two games in the pairs, winning seven games to two. In the reverse singles, Tigers were too strong, taking it five games to one for a 17-4 victory.
