Gisborne-East Coast senior representative bowlers beat Hawke's Bay by two points in a two-day tournament on the Gisborne Bowling Club greens.

GEC scored 39 points, with a differential of minus-3, while Hawke's Bay scored 37 points with a differential of plus-3.

The teams played singles, pairs, triples and fours across four rounds of games last weekend.

The GEC men were: Charlie Ure, Boon McIlroy, Geoff Pinn, Andrew Ball, Steve Goldsbury and Malcolm Trowell (Gisborne), Paddy Stewart (Te Karaka), July Hoepo-Williams (Kahutia), Steve Berezowski (Poverty Bay), Ben Elkington and Marcus Merrick (Tolaga Bay). Manager: Tim Sherriff.

The GEC women were: Carol Hawes and Dianne Phillips (Gisborne), Dayvinia Mills (Kahutia), Jessie Davis-Law, Lesley Seymour, Joy Davis and Kathryn Flaugere (Poverty Bay), Jasmine Merrick (Te Karaka), Sharon Olsen (Tolaga Bay) and Glenda Kapene (Wairoa). Round 1 — Singles: Paddy Stewart drew 22-all with Merv Brown; July Hoepo-Williams defeated Paul Harrison 25-17; Dayvinia Mills def Cheryn Menhennett 25-19; Sharon Olsen lost to Coral Lukies 25-21.
