Gisborne BMX Club’s season is in full swing and meetings have been well attended. The new front straight on the Gisborne track is proving a hit with riders.

STRIDERS — George Donaldson, Jax Nepia and Scott Pheasant had five good motos and are showing good skills for young riders.

5yrs and under: Stan Donaldson was the rider to beat in this group. He had two wins, narrowly beating Pippa Spence, who also had twos wins on the night. Mason Rennie highlighted his strong racing with a win.

6 and 7yrs: Austin Young was a man on a mission. He had four wins while Maz Truuts picked up a first race win. Lennox Richardson and Liam Nicol had five close races while Damien Smith was fifth overall but is getting faster.

8 AND 9yrs: Nine riders required two gates. Reave Nepia was the rider to beat with five wins, edging Brad O’Connell-Bacon, who had three wins. Lucas Leif Nicol and Asher Nepia tied on points with a win each. Blake Carpendale, Anna Spence, Stephen Bennett, Frank Donaldson and Jakob Rennie rounded out this close group of racers.

10 AND 11yrs: Aliyah Lardelli had five wins to finish ahead of Reef Hillman, Ashar McKnight and Cory Carpendale.

16yrs-PLUS: Dylan Lardelli led the way with four wins in this group of speedsters. Jason Lasenby had a good meet, picking up a win and second overall. Krystal Smith, David Bacon, Shane Richardson and Ruby-Anne Smith raced well.

Women: Sherilyn Anderson had a successful night with four wins and headed off Kyla Newton, Jude Halley also claimed a win and Sharyn Lardelli rounded out the field.

The next club meeting is tonight. Sign-in is from 5.40 and racing starts at 6pm. All riders are welcome.
