Work will begin next week to upgrade the mountain bike trails at Whataupoko Reserve.
The project will create new mountain biking trails and upgrade walking and dual-use trails.
Gisborne District Council has been working with Gisborne Mountain Bike Club on plans to enhance these trails.
The club has received funding
from Eastland Community Trust and New Zealand Community Trust to complete this project.
Specialist contractors Southstar Trails will start the trail construction upgrades next week. They will take about three to four months to complete.
