A street light pole was struck and levelled by a vehicle that left the road last night in Lytton Road near the Elgin shops.
Police and firefighters were called to the crash site at around 1.30am.
“The vehicle involved had left the scene when we got there,” a senior firefighter
said.
“The pole had been flattened and was lying on the road verge.”
The electrics of the pole were arcing and the emergency services staff stood by until faults staff arrived to isolate the power supply.
